I’ll never know what it’s like to be attracted to the same sex, I’ll never know what it’s like to be ridiculed and tormented because of my sexual orientation, and I’ll never know what it’s like to be the minority. But I’ll always know how I felt at our state capitol today as I watched the governor sign the bill allowing Minnesota to be the 12th state to legalize gay marriage. I’ll always know how magical and surreal the atmosphere was on this historical day. I will remember this day and the sense of pride that surrounds it for the rest of my life.
